So I'm totally faltering here, leaving my blog un-updated for days. I've been in a weird place. Friday I found out one of my friends died. A friend my age, and freaking STRAP of a man, who had a wild heart and a dancing wife and a life poured out before God. With leukemia somewhere in the mix. It pushed everything interesting and witty and energetic right off the table and left me with a big wide space. I sat down to my computer and got back up again and walked away several times. Dull. Eyes brimming.
Now the week is rolling on, but today I was swept up into a project so big, so vast that not only are multiple cans of paint involved, so is Dust - with his power tools. It's a playroom overhaul at Lindsay's house for Jack, Em, Ry (a.k.a. Boy) and Eve (a.k.a. Girl).
My brussel sprouts post will have to wait. Along with my i Love Looking Tuesday, because I don't want to rush either of them. I'm working all week and painting in the gaps in between. Colors like Nutmeg, Clove, Pencil, Graham Cracker Crust, Yam...and some owls.
"I'll be back later to check on your work."
If you can name that movie, massive props to you.

was it Breakfast Club?
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your friend, sucks when life throws us those kinds of curve balls.
I too am sorry about your friend. Life is so weird isn't it? I was thinking about your dad earlier when I was looking at the gorgeous day outside and thinking how excited he would be to see the sun and drown a few worms!
ReplyDeleteAs for the playroom overhaul - We are getting ready to do the same - in fact, we are going to turn our garage into a playroom complete with stadium seating (well thats b/c the garage floor has a slant to it and we are not going to build it up in case we convert it back to a garage one day to sell). Long story short, COME HELP US! Ha ha.
Coming home soon? Love you!
Man from Snowy River??
ReplyDeleteSend me an email about this friend.
